Why I love @BlueBloods_CBS via @erinwise82

There have been a lot of cop shows out there and still are. It’s always fun going search and find mission to apprehend the bad guys. While I love more than just Blue Bloods, this show is one of my favorites. It pulls me in for different reasons than just this crime happened now let’s find out why. These opinions are my own and do not reflect that of TheNerdyGirlExpress.com.

I can’t deny Blue Bloods has a fantastic cast, powerful big stars, such as Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Movnahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou to name a few. As we all know, big stars don’t always make good shows. This is not the case for Blue Bloods. These actors, including the children, work so well together, as if they were a real family. Which after all these years, they pretty much are family. And that is exactly why I love this show so much.

Here you have four generations of family, that has their problems, that go through things personally, who have trouble on their jobs, yet still sit down every Sunday night and eat dinner together. It’s a beautiful thing to watch. The Reagan family is a family of cops, excluding sister Erin, who is the A.D.A. (No I don’t just like the show because my name is Erin too hahaha) We watch them in their jobs, gathering evidence, arresting bad guys, even taking them to trial, all while seeing what’s behind the scenes of cops lives. I really like seeing both sides of their world.

I love this show for the family. I never had anything even close to that growing up and this family was the type of family I always envisioned. I like that they don’t always see eye to eye, even argue and fight but they always, and I mean always have each others backs. When they have conflicts with each other, even after blowing up, they will come to one another and work it out. If they disagree with a decision one of the others made, they let them know, but it’s not in a F you type of way. It’s in a way where you know their stance but it’s not their choice to make. I like that at those family dinners, the children speak and ask questions and tell about their day. I like that the adults speak back, answer the questions in the best possible way they can, and really care about how the kids day was. I like that the parents actually parent and teach values. I like that the family works together as family unit when it comes to the kids, yet no one oversteps their respective places.

It’s so nice to watch a show with such wonderful family dynamics. What’s also enjoyable about this show is they each make mistakes but never try to hurt anyone. They’re always trying to do the right thing. Even hothead Danny (Wahlberg). I also like that even with their best intentions at heart, it doesn’t always work out. It shows the realness of life.

Maybe we could all take a page out of this fictional family’s book and turn it into reality. Maybe we can all strive to do the best we can, love with all we have, have those weekly family dinners. I know the Reagan family has inspired me to spend more time with my family, as well even when it doesn’t work out, doesn’t mean I should stop trying to be the best I can be.
