Don’t Miss @NBCThisisUs Premiering September 20 via @stacyamiller85 #ThisIsUs

Life is made up of circumstances, moments and interactions.

The new NBC series This Is Us which premieres tonight at 10/9c touches upon how unexpected things happen in life. It tells the stories of a group of people who share the same birthday and how their paths surprising cross unexpectedly.

We have Rebecca and husband Jack (Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia), a couple expecting triplets, Kevin (Justin Hartley) is a sitcom star on “The Man-ny” who is valued for his hotness and tired of it, Kate (Chrissy Metz) who has weight issues and Randall (Recent Emmy Award winner Sterling K. Brown for The People v OJ Simpson) who’s father (Ron Cephas Jones) left when he was born but the two are about to rebuild their relationship.

Throughout the series, viewers will get to know these characters as they navigate through their lives. How will their lives connect will be a theme that’s explored.

When I heard about This Is Us, I was intrigued by its premise.  Additionally as a huge fan of Parenthood, this felt like a series I would enjoy watching. Strong characters dealing with emotional life issues in realistic ways sounds like definite ‘Must See TV’ for me.  Also, the cast is full of some of my favorite actors: I’ve been a longtime fan of Milo Ventimiglia from his days as Gilmore Girls’ Jess, Justin Hartley was Fox Crane on the NBC soap Passions, Sterling K. Brown played Gordon in The CW’s Supernatural and Mandy Moore, the talented singer/songwriter who proved herself to be a powerhouse actress in Nicholas Sparks’ A Walk to Remember.

With an ensemble cast like this, This Is Us should prove to be one of the breakout hits of the television season.
