Composer Alan Menken earned his EGOT status by winning a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Original Song in a Children’s, Young Adult or Animated Program for “Waiting In The Wings” from Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. With lyrics by Glenn Slater and sung by Eden Espinosa, “Waiting In The Wings” is one of the 24 songs included on Tangled: The Series and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure soundtracks. In addition to Espinosa, the soundtracks feature songs performed by Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Jeremy Jordan and James Iglehart and should be on every Disney fan’s playlist.

Menken and Disney songs go together like cake and ice cream. His music are sweets for your ears like the dessert is for your palate. The legendary composer is responsible for memorable music from Disney classics like Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast, The Little Mermaid and  Pocahontas.

Tangled: The Series (name changed to Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure after its first season) is a television sequel to the 2010 feature film Tangled. Alan Menken and Glenn Slater worked on the original film’s songs and returned to create new music befitting the characters and themes of the television series. Composer Kevin Kliesch provides the score. Along with Slater penning the lyrics, Tangled: The Series and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure soundtracks contain tunes that are catchy, emotional and inspiring. These songs are addictive…you’ll find that once you get them in your head they’ll take up happy residence inside your brain!

You are guaranteed to hear great music when watching a Disney film. Unforgettable songs that stand the test of time. The music in Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure continues that tradition. The songs are some of the best (if not the best) of anything you’ll ever hear on a television series. For anyone thinking Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure is kids fare, they’ll be pleasantly surprised. To quote King Edmund “Adults can appreciate the nuance.” Stories focus on empowerment through friendship and foster working together, falling from grace and the road to redemption and good vs. evil with writing that is sharp and witty. The joining of powerful music and writing is worthy of the Disney franchise.
