Recently I had the pleasure of getting to read a fantastic book, Dracengard 5 by Christopher Vale. I am a huge fan of his series and was beyond excited for this newest installment. If you haven’t read any of the Dracengard series, I highly encourage you to do so, as well as his other books, they are truly works of art. This book as well as all his others can be found on Amazon.

I am going to write this as spoiler free as possible.
So following the series, we started off with a Wizard coming with hideous creatures, drakmere, taking over kingdoms, in the most brutal ways, making himself King and stealing the Royal Families dragonstones. Most of the heirs of the thrones got away with their stones and head to Dracengard. During their travels, they encounter numerous obstacles, that test their courage, their will, trust, and loyalty. They learn that legends of their families were not just legends but great truths, that make their journeys that much more important because the fate of the Middle Realm depends on them. They meet people they never really knew existed, found family they never knew they had, felt love like never before, felt loss that could never be healed.
When they reach their destination, they must learn to become great warriors, with the help from some large winged friends. They must reach deep within themselves and let go of their fears and release the power inside. Not long after they begin training for the impeding battle, they learn of some great betrayals by people thought to be close to the heirs, our now heroes, as a new more dangerous foe is now after them. As book 4 comes to an end, the battle is coming to our heroes front door, which leads us into book five.
Dracengard 5 picks up where 4 left off, not far from a battle that will change everything for everyone. As the battle finally approaches, all hell breaks loose and the stakes are high. Chris brings you right into the middle of the action. The detail makes you feel like your right there beside one of our heroes with your very own sword. When we lose characters in the story, you feel all the emotions as if they were your best friend. I love a good book that can make you feel so much, feel apart of the story. Just when you thought things were going to go one way, Chris completely turns the tables on you, taking the story in a direction you don’t really expect. This book had me shocked and wanting for more. The events of the battle, the aftermath, the what could be next hits you right in the feels. Book 6 cannot come out soon enough. The world of Dracengard is just so incredible, truly a masterpiece. You really couldn’t ask for more from a series or a book.
