Continuing our spotlight on the guests for WishCon; today I want to tell you about an amazing woman named Marita Grabiak. Most of the guests highlighted are in front of the camera, but Marita has made a name for herself behind it. Many women find it hard to even break into directing, but Marita has not only made a spot for herself in the director’s chair she has been directing some of your favorite episodes from your favorite shows for years.

Marita graduated from UCLA and immediately started working in Hollywood in 1986. Starting as a script supervisor, she has been involved with many big shows and movies such as Young Guns, Liberace, Eerie Indiana, Super Mario Bros and ER. Marita then moved over to directing where she has been in some of the top shows:

ER, Dawson’s Creek, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville, Cold Case, Gilmore Girls, Wonderfalls, Everwood, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Alias, Law&Order: SVU, Point Pleasant, One Tree Hill, Eureka, Bones, Dollhouse and many more.

Not only that but she has also directed movies such as Holiday High School Reunion, Christmas in the City and For Better or For Worse. Overall she has over thirty directing credits to her name as well as eighteen credits for script supervisor. She has worked with the most talented people behind and in front of the camera for many years now.

 

Seriously what one other person would you be able to ask for an inside look at all of these amazing television shows? If you are attending WishCon you will have the chance to ask her about all of them, about the actors and actresses she directed and the stories she told.
