There are many Wentworth characters that have made the show memorable due to their actions but one remembered for an action done to her: Debbie Smith.
This article contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen Wentworth, please do not continue reading.
Debbie Smith was just a normal teenager until the night her mother, Bea was arrested for the attempted murder of her father, Harry. Once Bea was sent to prison, Debbie’s life was forever changed.
She suffered through the humiliation of a strip search when she came to visit her mother in prison. Then, Debbie was targeted by Jacs Holt, Wentworth’s top prison dog at the time in Holt’s vendetta against Bea.
Braydan Holt, Jacs’ son befriends Debbie on his mother’s orders, gets the teenage girl to fall in love with him then shoots her up with heroin, killing her.
One has to wonder how Debbie Smith’s life would have turned out. Sadly, her mother Bea and Wentworth viewers will never know.
