Sookie St. James was the best friend everyone wanted to have. She was quirky, loyal and the best cook. Lorelai couldn’t have started The Dragon Fly Inn without her help and support. She added a special spark to Gilmore Girls.

With the news of the Gilmore Girls Revival on Netflix, fans are wondering whether Melissa McCarthy will be able to reprise her role as Lorelai’s BFF.  McCarthy is a very busy actress with television and film projects occupying her schedule so it isn’t guaranteed she’ll be able to make a Stars Hollow appearance.

Gilmore Girls Creator Amy Palladino-Sherman has indicated that if Melissa McCarthy could find time, she’d welcome the return of Sookie, even if it’s a only for a cameo.

I’m sure Lorelai and fans alike would love to see Sookie again.
