Klaus and fans alike were shocked when he discovered Cami laying dead in the bed beside him in a pool of her own blood on the Mid Season Finale of The Originals.

This article contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen The Originals episodes “A Ghost Along The Mississippi” and “Wild at Heart”, please do not continue reading.

However, Cami doesn’t stay dead for long.  She reveals that Aurora compelled her to drink a vial of blood then, to slit her own throat at the moment when she looked into Klaus’ eyes and saw love. So now, Cami was a new vampire only needing to feed to complete the transition.

At first, Cami refuses, preferring to die to living life as a vampire. Even Klaus’ insistence didn’t get her to budge. However, seeing the ongoing dangers in the quarter and realizing she could be more useful as a vampire, Cami changes her mind. And a new vampire is born.

Klaus is at first pleased.  Now he won’t lose the woman he loves.  But Vampire Cami is uncontrollable, soon going on a killing spree to satisfy her bloodlust.

I must admit I like Vampire Cami. Actress Leah Pipes plays her alluring and sexy.  But I also miss human Cami.  She was Klaus’ moral compass as well as the one person he showed his true self.

I am eager and intrigued to see Cami grow as a character as a vampire. How will her new vampire status effect her relationship with Klaus?  Will she retain any of her humanity?
