Social media is the quickest public relations outlet there is and network executives know it. That’s why more of them have taken to posting on Twitter. It is the fastest way for them to find out how well their show is doing. The 100′s Creator and Executive Producer, Jason Rothenberg has become very active on Twitter posting show comments and appreciation tweets to viewers.
However, recent Ship War activity escalating negatively resulted in a different kind of tweet posted by Rothenberg.
It’s great that The 100 has stirred such passions. But let’s try to control our emotions when posting to Twitter. As someone who enjoyed television decades before social media, I’m happy to be able to read and share comments with other fans who I would have never met otherwise. Twitter and show promotion work hand-in-hand and can be used for good. Name calling because someone disagrees with you is unacceptable. We should never belittle one another. Let’s show everyone involved with the show we love, The 100 what intelligent and sensitive viewers we can be.
Do you use social media for good? We would like to know. Post a Comment below. Tweet @thenerdygirlexp or @stacyamiller85 .
