#RIPGeorgeMartin Remembering The Man Behind @TheBeatles via @stacyamiller85

Any fan of The Beatles know that George Martin’s contributions as a musical producer helped to contribute to the success of The Beatles.

Sadly, it was confirmed by his management company that Sir George Martin, the music producer behind the legendary group, The Beatles died on Tuesday at his home in England at the age of 90.

Martin helped to launch The Beatles into the musical stratosphere.  The music producer’s involvement with the group is widely recognized. George Martin was often called the “Fifth Beatle.” In addition to The Beatles, George Martin worked with countless other musical artists.

He began his career working for BBC’s department of classical music before producing novelty records working with the likes of Peter Sellers.
Then, George Martin met with band manager Brian Epstein, who was excited for the band he was managing, even though they had not been signed by Decca Records.  That band was The Beatles.  Martin took a long shot with The Beatles, signing them to a recording contract.  The Beatles met with George Martin on June 6, 1962, recorded their first song on September 4, 1962.  The rest as they say, is history.
Imagine if George Martin had passed on The Beatles, would we have missed out on this mega-talented group?  Perhaps, they would have been signed by someone else.  Or perhaps not.  Nonetheless, I offer thanks to George Martin for supporting The Beatles and many other recording masters.
You made a lasting impact on the music industry and will be missed.

  1. Very nice tribute. The only radio contest I ever won I was 12. The prize was a free album from local record store.
I went there and got the White Album. My introduction to rock and roll was at age 10 when a friend played me ” Come Together ” on a cheap plastic 45 rpm only record player.
I was hooked from then on. They are permanently part of my lifes playlist. So yes thank the Gods he didnt pass on the Beatles.
