In my previous Wentworth post I talked about whether Nash Taylor would make a good father.  Now it’s time to talk about the other half of the parental unit, Doreen and whether she will be a mother.

When viewers first met Doreen Anderson, she was caring for a little girl named Kyiah.  We learned that Doreen was not Kyiah’s mother, fellow prisoner Toni Goode was. However, Toni had a drug problem which made her unfit to be a mother.  Doreen on the other hand, was an excellent mother as she is very loving and nurturing.  When Kyiah is removed from her care, Doreen feels the loss as a real mother would.

When she finds out that she is pregnant, Doreen does her best to keep it from the guards but her ruse is discovered. She next tells the father, Nash who is happy at the news even though they both are prisoners.  Nash confesses that he loves Doreen and talk about being parents to their child.

Despite the complications, I feel that Doreen is already a good mother and will be a better mother to Joshua once her prison sentence ends.
