My Little Pony Recap: On Your Marks from @kleffnotes

This weekend’s episode of My Little Pony focused on the adorable Cutie Mark Crusaders as they worked to help somepony find his own Cutie Mark. I love Cutie Mark Crusaders episodes, those ponies are so cute, so let’s get to the recap.

Quick note, the pictures in this article are a little weird, but I was having issues finding ones to include, sorry about the pause logo.

Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo have their first meeting after getting their Cutie Marks, and while Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo marvel at theirs, Apple Bloom insists that they need do go out and do something, besides just look at their own flanks all day. The ponies realize that most of what they used to do was focused on trying new things just to get their Cutie Marks. After some thinking they realize that they also used to help people who didn’t have their marks or ponies who had lost their purpose. They aren’t sure what to do though. They pester Big Mac and even try and help Pound and Pumpkin Cake with a motivational speech, even though they are just babies.

The Crusaders feel like they have struck out, until they chat with Bulk, the huge bodybuilding pony. He hangs out with them in their tree house, even though they don’t all exactly fit. He says that he’s lifted all the dumbbells in Ponyville and doesn’t know what to do. They tell him to lift more things, besides dumbbells, and that he can help other ponies lift stuff. Apple Bloom is worried that they’ll never find another Cutie Mark problem and that it will give them no reason to exist.

Apple Bloom seems to be the most worried about what they’ll do, they finally decide to just do stuff for fun. The only problem is, they all have different ideas of what fun is. Scootaloo wants to scooter, Sweetie Belle wants to sing, and Apple Bloom wants to hang out with Zecora and do magic stuff. Scootaloo suggests that maybe they should spend some time on their own doing stuff they’ve always wanted to do. Apple Bloom seems to be stuck though and unsure of what to do without her friends, which leads to a country ballad about being alone.

Apple Bloom winds up joining a dance class because there’s partner dancing and she thinks it will be fun. She isn’t amazing at it, but while she’s there she meets a young boy pony with no Cutie Mark. He loves being a solo dancer, but he’s too scared to perform in the big recital. Apple Bloom leaves him and just goes to sit alone in the dark in the tree house. She mentions the pony she met and she and the other Crusaders rush to the recital to help him. They get him to perform an amazing tap dancing routine and he gets his Cutie Mark. Apple Bloom realizes that being on her own actually helped another pony so it turns out that spending time alone will help more ponies, which is the friendship lesson of the week.
