Watching Julie McNiven on screen, viewers feel as if they are touched by an angel. The veteran actress consistently gives electrifying performances that leave audiences spellbound.

Supernatural fans know McNiven from her work as the angel Anna Milton. When Julie McNiven first appeared on the show in the Season 4 episode “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” Anna was a college student confined to a behavioral health facility due to mental health issues. She said that she heard angels and spoke of the impending Apocalypse. To the outside world, these claims qualified her for mental health treatment. Yet, Anna was also vulnerable to the wrath of both angels and demons. Enter heroic hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester(Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) who sought to protect Anna and uncover the mystery surrounding her unusual gift. In the episode Heaven and Hell, we learned that Anna was in fact an angel who intentionally ripped out her angelic grace and fell to Earth because she wanted to be human.

What was impressive about McNiven’s work on Supernatural is that she masterfully revealed so many conflicting emotions with her interpretation of Anna. Her Anna began as a scared and confused young woman. Through her subsequent appearances on the show, Anna emerged as fiercely determined. McNiven unwrapped the layers of a complex character with admirable skill.

Since leaving Supernatural, Julie McNiven continues to thrill fans with appearances on many other shows. In addition, she demonstrated her vocal talents by singing on Jason Manns EP “Christmas With Friends.”

Julie McNiven’s upcoming project is “The Babymoon, ” an adventure/comedy movie.

Whether acting or singing, I predict that Julie McNiven will continue to amaze audiences with her gifts. Her talent is Heaven sent.
