Remember the early days of The CW when it was all teens all the time?
You had your gossipy girls Serena and Blair (Gossip Girl) those by the creek, Dawson, Joey and Pacey (Dawson’s Creek) and the ones on the hill, Peyton, Brooke, Lucas, Nathan and Hayley (One Tree Hill). There were even a few of the alien persuasion, Max, Isabel and Michael (Roswell).
Well times, they are a changing. These days you have characters more interested in saving the world then saving an unpopular girl from social annihilation. Whereas the weapons of choice on The CW shows used to be makeup and clothes, it’s now arrows and speed.
Come this Fall, a new hero will take flight on The CW. She is Kara Jor El aka Supergirl. She already has a friend at The CW, Barry Allen the fastest man alive as The Flash. I’m sure she’ll be welcomed with open arms by the millions of fans who followed her adventures on CBS.
With The Flash, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and now Supergirl, the fight for true, justice and kicking bad guy ass will be an equal opportunity venture. Yes folks, being a hero is no longer just ‘man’s work’ women have the physical strength and strength of character to make the world a better place.
I hope with Supergirl joining the network will bring in more viewers.
