A superhero celebrates his birthday today May 24.

It is Greg Berlanti, Executive Producer and creative force behind such shows as Smallville, The Flash, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.  

Berlanti’s vision has helped open a new generation of viewers to shows with characters to cheer on. Barry Allen, Oliver Queen among others have been re-imagined for the enjoyment of “popular kids” and nerds alike.  With these shows, characters who were beloved for decades now have a modern voice to fit the times.  However, older generations can still enjoy these shows.

I am grateful to Greg Berlanti for being instrumental in getting these shows on the air.  I can’t image the hurdles he must have faced to bring his vision to life.  But like his superheroes, Greg Berlanti didn’t give up.
