It’s Memorial Day, the official start to the summer season.  And that means beach, picnics, barbecues and binge watch television marathons.

There are so many shows to choose from on many online platforms, Netflix, Hulu etc.  Old and current shows offering something for every tv taste whether it comedy or drama.

However, I’d like to make a suggestion- how about Beauty and the Beast? No, I’m not talking about the Disney cartoon or the 1987 series starring Linda Hamilton (though I have nothing against either). I’m talking about The CW series entering its fourth and final season this Thursday, June 2. Starring Kristin Kreuk, Jay Ryan, Austin Basis, Nina Lisandrello and Nicole Gale Anderson, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Dr. Vincent Keller, an ex-soldier who is injected with a mysterious drug by a nefarious government agency that turns him into a genetically power charged beast and the woman he loves, Detective Catherine Chandler. The couple and their friends face danger while trying to stop this government agency from turning others into beasts.

The social media buzz for this series is overwhelmingly positive. Even people who don’t watch Beauty and the Beast (and boy, they don’t know what they’re missing!) have heard about the show. If you’re celebrating a low-key Memorial Day weekend in front of the television, give Beauty and the Beast a try. The Complete Third Season was recently released on Blu-Ray and DVD.
