This week’s Preacher surprisingly didn’t start off with Jesse at the forefront. Instead we got to see what Tulip is up to on her mission for the mysterious Danni. They are sitting on a park bench in Houston and Dannie is describing how Tulip could killer her husband, apparently she finds him disgusting, but Tulip refuses. She hands over the map and in exchange she gets an address and we get a flashback of Tulip in a blue dress. Before I continue with the recap I will say that there are some moments of gun violence within the episode. If you don’t feel comfortable reading about them at this time I totally understand.
Dannie goes to meet a man in a movie theater, well, some sort of theater showing some sort of movie at least, and gives him the map. The man in question is dressed all in white and never speaks to her. The two gentlemen who tried to operate on Jesse are finishing up their meeting with the sheriff and tell him that they are from the government. Without going into detail they say that they need to deal with something that has escaped. This leads the sheriff to tell a terrifying story about a pretzel vendor and the murders of three children. Emily is visiting with the mother of the girl who Jesse asked to open her eyes. The girl’s eyes have been open since he left, but that’s the only change in her behavior. Her mother is elated and feels her faith is restored, but she and Emily both don’t understand what has happened. Donnie walks his son to the bus stop and explains to him that he isn’t hurting his mother, even if the boy does hear some dangerous sounds from the bedroom. At the bus we see that the driver really doesn’t remember the girl he had inappropriate feelings for, but seems very interested in her still. Before the bus leaves the children taunt Donnie by making bunny sounds and calling him Bunny Man.

At the church Cassidy is unhappily awake while the sun is out and finds out that he needs to take the body of the now heartless parishioner to be cremated. Before he can leave Jesse is there and tells him that he needs to show him something. The two spend a very long time seeing what Jesse can make Cassidy do. We learn that the vampire actually likes Justin Bieber, which is probably the best reveal of the night. Donnie is finding himself insulted at work, his boss tells him to take his tray away and when he fails to pick it up is dismissed from the room. The gentlemen are preparing themselves to take on Jesse for a second chance at the thing inside of him, there are a lot of weapons in that hotel room. Tulip gets pulled over for speeding and even though she insists she isn’t trying to talk her way out of the ticket she does manage to talk her way out of it. She says she served in the military, which seems very possible. I wasn’t exactly sure if she was telling the truth or if it was part of a con. The ring did fit her finger, I just hadn’t noticed it before.

Tulip tracks down Jesse and tells him that she knows where Carlos is. Apparently they used to be involved with the guy and he is bad news. They head out to get him, even though Jesse had been so against the two of them working together again. While they are gone Cassidy is getting the body cremated and notices the same car that the men he killed in last week’s episode driving past him. He gets ridiculously excited and chases after them. The men are in full gear and are headed to the church when suddenly Cassidy attacks them and manages to kill them for a second time. He finds it really weird that they are back and thinks they are probably clones. When he goes to get clean up supplies he hears a noise and finds the men back in the church. While he attacks the taller of the two he learns that they aren’t after him, but Jesse.

The preacher and Tulip have stopped on the road at a gas station and while she did offer to get him chili cheese fritos, he instead says he’s going to go to the bathroom. While he’s washing his hands Donnie storms in with a gun. He threatens Jesse, but before he can do anything Jesse commands him to stop. Then he makes him sit down and put the cocked gun in his mouth. Jesse seems tempted to go farther, but stops. Donnie walks out terrified and when Jesse comes out, he tells Tulip that he thinks Carlos should be left to God. Then he starts walking home. At the church Cassidy is learning what the men want with Jesse and offers to act as their middle man after they give him a very strange cover story. They don’t tell him they aren’t clones, but after saying they are from the government they then say they are from Heaven. The episode ends with Jesse presiding over the funeral of the man Cassidy had cremated. It’s in the small cemetery on the church’s property and the only person there, besides Jesse, is Emily.
