It has been announced that Iron Man Tony Stark will be facing a new Iron Man.  Or rather Iron Woman. Marvel Comics’ popular Iron Man series will be introducing a new Iron Man.

She’s a black teenage named Riri Williams.  Riri’s story is that she is an intelligent MIT student who creates an Iron Man suit.  Her introduction doesn’t mean that fans of the Iron Man comic series will be losing Tony but it does speak positive for diversity in the Marvel comic universe.  It’s refreshing to see that woman superheroes of color are being recognized.

The world of comic book lovers are changing from the traditional classification of readers.  Riri’s introduction will open up the Marvel Iron Man fandom to young African American girls who will be thrilled to see a character that represents their demographic.
