The Saga of Alexis and Julian, known in fandom as ‘Julexis’ is being torn asunder on General Hospital and it has many die-hard fans of this couple on pins and needles.
In my previous article ‘Can #GH Alexis & Julian Recover,’ I gave a brief overview history of the couple and outlined the current state of their relationship. However, since that time things have escalated and taken a deadly turn for the worst.
This article contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen General Hospital episodes on Wednesday, July 6 and Thursday, July 7, 2016, please do not continue reading.
The only way Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahan) could save herself from being tried for Carlos Rivera’s murder was to wear a wire and get Julian (William de Vry)to confess to the crime. But Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) didn’t want to stop there, she also wanted Julian to incriminate himself in ordering the hit on Duke’s life.
However, believing his wife was pregnant with their second child and determined to keep her out of prison (without incriminating himself), Julian had a henchman steal the murder weapon from the Port Charles Police Department’s evidence locker. So without the dagger, there was no evidence tying Alexis to the crime. But Alexis was still committed to getting her husband’s entire confession on tape. So, she asked the right questions to get him to admit that her killed Carlos Rivera to keep him from destroying what they had by coming clean about him ordering the hit on Duke Lavery. Bingo!
Unfortunately, Alexis ‘ behavior when Julian attempted to hug her aroused his suspicions. He then took back the dagger. Ripping open her blouse, Julian discovered the wire. Alexis was in peril now.
And the police arrived too late at her house- Alexis and Julian were already gone.
On the docks, an angered and heartbroken Julian confronted Alexis about her betrayal, holding the dagger to her throat. How will the beloved Julexis survive? Is this the point of no return?
I have speculated on Twitter that perhaps the murderer of Carlos Rivera and the man threatening Alexis isn’t Julian after all. As General Hospital has a fondness for the real life face masks (Remember Faison?) it could be a Julian imposter.
Or General Hospital writers could “pull a Luke,”and have Julian suffering from some sort of mental split personality disorder.
