Two is better than one and in the case of twins Annamarie and Ginamarie Russo, the phrase definitely holds true.
Before the premiere of VH1’s reality competition series Twinning on July 22, 2015, the names Annamarie and Ginamarie Russo were basically unknown. But since that time, these two beauties have amassed a large following of fans. The Russo Twins coined the phrase ‘Leopardy,’ which meant when in jeopardy to fight like a leopard. They are strong, determined young women. If Barbie was a real life doll and she had a twin sister, they’d be Annamarie and Ginamarie Russo. But these dolls are more than pretty faces, they have equal amounts intelligence, grace and charm.
They attended Hofstra University and are active supporters of charitable causes. Ginamarie, who suffers from arthritis, was an honoree last fall at the Long Island branch of the Arthritis Foundation’s To a Commitment Cure Awards Reception Dinner. She refuses to let arthritis slow her down and helps to promote education of the disease. Annamarie is a vegan and encourages healthy eating as a Junior Board member for Cool School Foods.
Annamarie and Ginamarie share a close bond and have been fortunate that they have been able to act together on their film and television projects. This dynamic duo are also models and have been featured promoting Ginger House NYC fashions.
I had the great pleasure of interviewing them last summer and it was one of my more enjoyable interviews. It’s obvious they are extremely close, sharing that special bond twins do. As a twin myself, I can certainly relate.
So today on July 10, I wish Annamarie and Ginamarie Russo a very happy birthday and continued success in all that they do and to thank them for shining as brightly as the California sun for us to see.
