A Letter of Support to @SleepyWriters @SleepyHollowFOX @pmiscove via @stacyamiller85

Sleepy Hollow has been renewed for Season 4 and will return in the Fall. For fans who wanted a renewal, this is great news. However, there are those who have expressed disappointment in the direction of the show, particularly with the departure of Nicole Beharie as Abbie Mills.

During conversations I’ve had with others this weekend on Twitter, there were strong opinions expressed about the turn the writing on the show has taken. So, I decided to send this letter to the writers of Sleepy Hollow, the show and co-creator Phillip Iscove to show my support for Sleepy Hollow.

The opinions expressed are that of the author and may differ from others.

Dear Sleepy Hollow Writers,

Thanks for your unique retelling of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. You turned a classic piece of literature and made it an appealing television series for today’s audience. Ichabod Crane in the twenty-first century as a fighter of biblical and supernatural evil was a brilliant concept. Giving him a partner in the fight, Abigail Mills, added to the intrigue and kept viewers tuned in.

However, during the past seasons some of the story decisions have been unpopular with some of the once adoring fans. Like many others, I will miss the dynamic pairing of Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills as portrayed by Tim Mison and Nicole Beharie and hate to see this story end.

I haven’t been a fan of every story told on Sleepy Hollow but I support your creativity and respect your right to telling the tale as you see fit.  Season 4 offers new challenges with the departures of old characters and the introduction of new ones. I offer welcome to Janina Gavankar as she joins the cast.  I look forward to meeting these new characters and the actors who will play them and watching the new stories unfold.

I will continue to support Sleepy Hollow with the same enthusiasm I’ve always had and thank you for bringing this tale to life.

Stacy Miller
