After that finale I can say that I am ridiculously happy that Dark Matter was renewed for a third season. I was crossing my fingers already, but if it hadn’t been renewed and I had to live with this finale as the final episode ever I would have lost my mind. It was full of action, drama, and cliffhangers so let’s get to the recap.
The companies are gearing up for war with a council meeting on the horizon. According to Commander Truffault they can stall, but as she is in a meeting the Raza arrives. With the Council of Corporations meeting for the first time in years, Two and Three are there to warn them that they believe everyone will die. On the ship Nyx receives a message from Ryo and while he is pleased to see her, she is not as pleased to see him. Ryo explains why he had to kill his brother and stepmother, but she states that Milo’s death is also as much his fault as anyone’s. He then says that he wants her by his side as his empress, this is the least romantic marriage proposal ever. While on the call Misaki is listening in, which definitely can’t be good. Things are not going well with Truffault, Two, and Three. She doesn’t believe them and when she goes to leave, Two stands up and says that they could be getting rich, but instead they are trying to help the corporations. Truffault says that she can’t take this story to the board and that she can’t just bring them in on this case. Two says that if she tells them there is no threat of corporate war that they will leave. She can’t say that and instead says that there is tension and that they are in a unique position to help. The location for the meeting was chosen because of the series of satellites that can be used to disrupt an FTL drive at this particular station. Once it is activated no one can get in or out, except for the Raza with their blink drive. Truffault says she can forge Mikei credentials for one of them and Five volunteers. While she doesn’t fit the model of a corporate employee she says she can do it. Six is worried and begins arguing that she could be risking her life for nothing if the war is destined to break out. Five still wants to try and stop it the only way that they think they can. She also says she’ll be fine because they’ll be there to get her if she runs into trouble. The GA is preparing for this event and Kierken is in charge of the branch serving during the counsel meeting.

Five is getting ready to go and Android is worried for her too. She says that she believes in her and while she reminds her of all she needs to bring with her and do, she does admit to feeling guilty and worried because she could go to the station herself and Five is going instead. Five emerges blonde and very business attired. The Raza is in position and there is no sign that they have been seen. Android has been analyzing news data from the alternate dimension and thinks that she might have found something. Truffault has Five at her side and she says she needs to act like one of her team. She doesn’t believe that she’ll be recognized. The representative of Ferris, Nieman, says he needs to speak to Truffault and the two of them leave, which gives Five time to search the station. She gets them into the station’s electronics and while the Raza is watching her progress Android reveals that she believes that a terrium bomb may be what caused the explosion in the other world. When Five gets back to the meeting area she learns that Ryo is there with a delegation. He spots her in the crowd, but she runs before he can take the time to speak to her. Three runs into the bridge and asks what happened and Android reveals that Ryo is an official delegate, they are worried that he will spot Five. Even though she runs off Ryo’s men come and insist that he will speak with her. They think that Five is a spy, but the young man from Ferris come to her defense and beats the heck out of the two men threatening her. It turns out her isn’t what he appears to be, he’s an android. On the Raza Android realizes that Ferris has looped the footage in their docking area, which means that they can use it as a way in to get in and figure out Ferris is up to. Five tells the android, Arrian, to stay out of sight and when he asks if she’s going to give him up, she explains that she knows how he can pass as human. It turns out that his boss gave him the upgrade to make him a better bodyguard. He doesn’t understand why she won’t turn him in, but she says that she owes him one. The rest of the crew is suited up in business garb, though Three only agrees to go because Two promises to run a heist afterward. They’ll go after anything he wants and that’s enough to get him to agree. Nyx and Android are staying behind, but are on the alert to come in if force is needed. At the meeting Nieman from Ferris argues that things need to remain stable and he votes against the changes brought forward by a different corporation. The vote occurs and the resolution passes, much to the disdain of Nieman. He asks for a recess and the council is dismissed for one hour, but as he leaves he gives some sort of silent command to his Arrian. Ryo enters his room to find Two and is not surprised to see her. Six and Three are making their rounds, but Six is stopped by Kierken and the GA.

Ryo pours a drink and asks Two, though he initially calls her Portia, why she is there and she tells him that he is in danger. She then reveals their theory about Ferris and Ryo says that he studied the alternate world as well and that the war is what saved Zyron. He offers her safe haven on his plant until his scientists can replicate the blink drive, but Two refuses after insisting that she can’t let him use the blink drive for war. Ryo says that he can have her arrested and she says she knows as she walks out. Three grabs Five and gets a bit beat up in the process. He tells her that they’ve been looking for terrium and that he thinks Ferris is behind the bomb. Three is ready to move, but Five tells him to prep the Marauder and give her ten minutes because she thinks she knows where the bomb is. Six has been locked up by the GA and he tells Kierken that the space station is in danger. Kierken says that he knows the station is in danger and blames them, but no matter what Six says he doesn’t believe him. Three is headed to the Marauder when he is attacked by two men, who are revealed to belong to Ferris. Nieman appears and asks him what he’s doing there. Three says he knows about their bombing plot and that they are planning to stop him, Nieman says that’s unlikely. Six is explaining everything to Kierken and he says he doesn’t see what he would do. He thinks that Ryo is going to be behind the bombing, but Six says he doesn’t see how he could be without a way off of the shuttle. As he’s saying that one of Ryo’s men kills the man in charge of the controls and suddenly he has control of the whole station. After the recess Nieman doesn’t return and Five follows Arrian. Ryo suddenly arrives on the Raza and shuts down Android and gives Misaki a taser and says he’s taking the blink drive. Five finds Arrian and he confirms that the delegation left. The poor android is actually the bomb.

Arrian tells Five that he can’t stop the bomb, but he needs her to leave so that she won’t be killed. He has no control over the weapon inside of him and only Nieman can turn it off. Five tells him that she knows someone who is just like him and insists that there must be something that they can do. Arian says that there is something that he can do and before she can stop him he spaces himself to save the lives of the people on the station. He explodes within close enough range to cause it to shake intensely. Nyx in her search for Android finds Misaki. Though she was told to use non-lethal force the two begin to fight with daggers. While Nyx was holding her own Misaki had poisoned her blade and was able to cut Nyx once. Ryo leaves with the drive and Misaki informs him that she met no resistance. After he has left the ship he turns Android back on and tells her to get everyone back to the ship immediately because it will blow up in less than 20 minutes. Two says that there was an explosion and she thinks that the bomb was taken care of, but Android says that there is another threat. She also informs Two that Ryo took their drive. Kierken has taken Six’s com and hears everything, he doesn’t believe anything that they are talking about. Two insists that it is his job to protect these people. He instead sends one of his men to find Three. Android finds Nyx on the bridge and while this is happening, Kierken finds Ryo’s man in the control room. The man triggers a critical override as Kierken shoots him. Everything begins to shut down with that triggered, Two calls for Three, Five, and Six to get to the Marauder. Six has managed to escape, but someone finds Three, and Five is caught in a mob of people. Truffault finds her and tells her to come with her. Android is sitting with Nyx as the station explodes. We honestly have no idea who survived, if Five will get back to the Raza ever, or if Android can save Nyx.

That was a crazy finale! Seriously I can’t wait until the next season because this definitely ended on a massive cliffhanger.
