These two men stepped on screen and I was in shock and awe. From their first lines I thought “well damn, these guys are going to be alright”. The beginning of the series was very closely based on the film….well at first, for the most part, (that will be another article), with that said, Cotrona and Holtz’s protrayl of the Gecko brothers closely matched that of their predecessors. These men held their own and still do. 

The chemistry they have between them, playing these brothers is genuine, it definitely shows on-screen. Their relationship, the choices they make for one another, is one of the main reasons I’m so invested in this show and why I will continue to be. Their relationship kind of reminds me of some other TV brothers from another network…….

I am incredibly blown away with these actors. It’s not always easy taking on roles that others have played. It’s even harder to play them well. The hardest of all is making the role your own. DJ Cotrona and Zane Holtz have accomplished all three perfectly.

Holtz’s Richie is fantastic. He creeps me out, has me rooting for him, and makes me want to be his victim, all at the same time. I love how he’s kind of like “I could help you out or eat you”. I like that his decisions don’t always work out yet he keeps going. His little brother syndrome is on point. I actually feel bad for him, though he keeps making sketchy calls.

Cotrona’s Seth is definitely on point and then some. I mean, Richie is my favorite character but Seth is a very close second. Being the older sibling myself, I can relate to Seth on SOME things. I think he’s starting to realize he’s got to back off a bit to keep things under control. I dig his protective side. We’ve seen him protective over more than just his brother. As with Richie, no matter what, Seth keeps on going. 

I have enjoyed being a fan and will continue being that ever loving watcher.

I love the development of these guys and can’t wait for more.
