The Rookie is an American police procedural drama television series created for ABC by Alexi Hawley. The series follows John Nolan, a man in his forties, who becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department. The series is produced by ABC Studios and Entertainment One (Wikipedia).
Season 2 Episode 13 is titled “Follow-Up Day” Here is the synopsis from TV Guide: “Nolan is given some life-changing news and invites Grace over for a home cooked meal in his newly remodeled kitchen. Meanwhile, each unit is tasked with following up on dormant cases in the hopes they can uncover new leads.”
