#Stargirl (Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E) Comic Series by Geoff Johns via @stacyamiller85 @geoffjohns

Fan of The CW’s Stargirl? Then check out Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E comic series by Geoff Johns.

Meet Courtney Whitmore, a typical teenage girl trying to make it through high school-but she’s about to stumble upon a secret that will make her life a lot more complicated! Her new stepfather, Pat Dugan, was once a costumed adventurer called Stripesy. Finding the Kid’s costume, Courtney decides to become the new Star-Spangled Kid! But Dugan isn’t about to let his new daughter put herself in harm’s way-at least, not by herself. He soon builds a robotic suit called S.T.R.I.P.E. so he can keep an eye on Courtney as she battles for justice. Now the duo fight side by side as they take on aliens, cults, super-villains, and more! Collects Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #0-14, JSA All Stars #4, and stories from DCU Heroes Secret Files (1999) and DCU Villains Secret Files (1999)(DC Entertainment).

Stargirl is currently airing on The CW at 8/7c on Tuesday night.

I started watching Stargirl because I felt it would be a good summer series companion to The CW’s The Flash. But less than halfway through the first episode, I knew there was something special about Stargirl. The story and characters were engaging. I was hooked and eagerly awaited each new episode.

As I like to do with every television series based on a book (or comic), I sought out the Stargirl comic book series. I usually prefer to watch the screen version before partaking of the written one, otherwise I make comparisons. I discovered Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E by Geoff Johns (Art by Lee Moder and Dan Davis). This comic book series forms the basis of The CW adaptation.

I’d recommend fans of The CW’s Stargirl check out Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E.
