When Supernatural returns for its twelfth season this October, the Winchester dynamic will see some changes. For years the boys’ family unit consisted of just the two of them. Their father John Winchester died in Season 2 and their surrogate father Bobby Singer succumbed in Season 7 at the hands of Leviathan leader Dick Roman.
It seems like just yesterday viewers were watching the dramatic events of Season 11 unfold in the Supernatural Season Finale “Alpha and Omega” on May 25.

Supernatural episode “The Chitters” airs April 27, 2016 and it looks like another one shot monster mystery story.
When Supernatural premiered on the then WB on September 13, 2005, it was billed in the media as a “little horror show.” The story of Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers traveling across the country fighting supernatural evil, immediately struck an emotional chord with viewers. The early days of the show focused on urban legends such as Bloody Mary and Hook Man. Later, the mythology introduced angels and a civil war in Heaven. Still, the relationship between the Winchesters is the heart of Supernatural.
Over the years, Supernatural has redefined itself as more than a “little horror show.’
Supernatural’s Dean Winchester has always had to be responsible which didn’t allow for much time of a childhood.
