Is everyone excited? We are just hours away from the premiere of the second season of iZombie! Before we do though, I wanted to go over some possible predictions we could be seeing this season. We know the main plot point is that Max Rager wants to take out all the zombies and that Liv and friends are trying to take Max Rager down instead.

My first prediction is that family is going to play a much bigger part this year for our lovely zombie heroine and co. We already know through the grapevine that Blaine’s father is going to be playing a role this season and he will not be the only one to make an appearance I bet. I have wondered from time to time, about Liv’s father. I don’t remember anyone ever mentioning him in any way. Is he dead? Did he ditch them? I don’t know, but I’m betting that Blaine won’t be the only one with daddy issues this season.

Not only that, but we know from the finale that Liv is probably going to be having a fall out with her known family. We don’t know how that final scene played out yet. Will her brother be joining her  undead club? Will there be a family feud going on that distracts Liv from taking down Max Rager? Right now Liv’s allies have dwindled with certain deaths and others finding out her secret and not taking it very well. I’m predicting that while there will definitely be fights going on, that Liv and her family will make up, or at least group together when a common antagonists comes knocking, like maybe a deadbeat dad?

Speaking of Liv’s friends, we know that Major and Peyton have had some time to think about Liv’s reveal. Will they come around or will they be new antagonists Liv has to deal with? I’m leaning more towards they will start to come around. Major will because he will want to help take Max Rager down, being the self-imposed zombie slayer of Seattle, and that is what Liv is currently working on for this season. I think it will be one of those things where the two of them will have to learn to trust each other again to take down a common enemy. There is also the fact that Major was given the cure, but it’s unknown how it will affect him. Is he really cured? Will he relapse? Will he be some kind of strange in between? I predict that there will definitely be side effects to that first round of cure and he and Blaine will both be experiencing them.

Peyton is a little more up in the air. It’s a little hard for me to believe she is going to waltz back into her and Liv’s apartment and just be cool with it all after disappearing as she did. While probably much less in your face about it as Major has been, that trust will have to be rebuilt and Peyton will come around to Liv’s side. I think her lawyer background is going to come in handy as well when Liv and co are taking down Max Rager. Peyton’s sense of right and wrong is going to come out big time when she finds out that Max Rager did this to her best friend and others and are now trying to cover it up by murdering them all.

Then there is Ravi. Will Ravi and Peyton continue their romance after she flew the coop? Will she want to when she finds out Ravi knew Liv’s secret and didn’t tell her? I predict that they will, but it will be put on the back burner due to other events taking place. If Max Rager finds out about Ravi trying to cure the zombism they caused, will they want him for themselves? I think that is very likely and our Ravi might just get his British butt kidnapped by the ultimate baddies. There is also the question of Ravi finding out if his cure worked or not. I don’t think it’s finished by a long shot and we will be seeing him trying to find more ingredients, researching and infected rats in the future. I can’t help but also wonder if we will see a change in Ravi as well. While he was bitten and seemingly uninfected by that one rat, we don’t know for sure if there aren’t any side effects or if something else in his new research may change him. I’m going off the comics a bit here, but we may see a were-something later on in the season.

My biggest prediction is that Clive is finally going to find out about zombies and Liv. He has been toeing the line of that truth all of season one and now with Max Rager coming after Liv, there is no way he won’t be finding out more. Not to mention from the season one finale I can guess that Clive is going to be investigating Major a lot more. Many truths could be revealed from that investigation alone. The question is what will Clive do with this knowledge? Will he still be Liv’s friend? Will they still work together? I think Clive will be much more understanding than Major and Peyton were. He has seen some strange things in his line of work and he understands what keeping a secret to protect others means with his background in undercover work and all.

Other predictions? I think there are going to be new zombie friends made this season, Meat Cute isn’t out of business yet – just has a new location, and I think that Max Rager is going to try and start the zombie apocalypse, on purpose. Of course every single one of these could be wrong and Rob Thomas and the writer’s room will be pulling all sorts of stunts to keep us on our toes and watching. With the very recent news of the CW adding five extra episodes for this season, it means we are going to get a lot more material too and that can only be a good thing for us fellow zom’s.
