With all the incredible shows on TV now, I have fell behind in some shows. I’m taking the winter hiatus to play catch up. I have finally caught up with this season of MTV’ s Teen Wolf. Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for Scott and his “pack”, the show hit back and said oh yea, let’s show y’all just how bad it can get.
Now I’m not going to worry about spoilers as season 5A is over and is already on DVD. I will not let myself get this far behind on 5B. This season was a packed full of tension. This season was missing everyone’s favorite wolf Derek. Not that is much of a surprise now. A lot of people were really upset over Derek, but I have to say, although he is dearly missed, Scott now has the chance to be a real Alpha, one that has to be in charge and make real decisions. Derek did his job, he taught Scott, he was his mentor, there was going to have to come a time when Scott stood on his own two feet. This is just my opinion.

The bad guys this season are downright scary, frightening creatures. The way they move, the sounds they make, the experiments they do, they truly are The Dread Doctors. They take teens who have received some sort of transplant and pump them full of some kind of mercury. They become The Dread Doctors experiments. It changes them into chimera, hybrid creatures. The teens are placed back in their lives after the experiments and are watched. If the experiments don’t take The Dread Doctors come back and eliminate their failed experiment.
From the first show, Lydia is caught, locked in some mental health hospital, from the looks of it, and the rest of the shows are what have happened up until her capture. Lydia is a very powerful banshee, who’s coming into her powers very nicely, but would be a great asset to any bad guy.

I’d really like to know what the hell is in that mercury that’s changing these teens into the supernatural. We all know it has to done with the two types of DNA, but there’s something more. Maybe the organs and skin graphs, etc, are from a supernatural being….just a thought.
Liam seemed to be trying extremely hard this season to get control over his powers. We meet a girl from his past, Hayden. She’s really not fond of him and over a couple episodes we find out, during sixth grade, he punched her in the face and left her with a horrible yearbook picture. She returned the favor. He tries repeatedly to make it up to her; after some time and her being turned into an experiment, they become close and seem to really fall in love. Unfortunately, she is a failed experiment.

A new cast member joined this season, Theo. He claimed to be Stiles and Scott’s friend from fourth grade, who is now a werewolf. Right off the bat, Stiles doesn’t trust him. He actually said something at the beginning of the season to Scott that I’ve also been saying watching all these seasons. Scott asked why don’t you trust him and Stiles screamed BECAUSE YOU TRUST EVERYBODY. Sorry Scott, but Stiles is right, you do trust everyone. Now it’s only burned him a couple times, but those times it did were really freaking bad.

Is it me or does everyone seem like they have been visited by the creepy doctors? Everyone is having some really wicked memories. Some terrifying memories. Also, am I the only one wondering where in the hell did that book come from. Like I know it was written by Dr. Valack, but how did Tracy get it, ya know. I have a feeling that that will be revealed in the second part of the season when it starts in January.
When the experiments failed and are eliminated, their bodies disappear. No one has any idea who’s taking the bodies or why. Some think it may be the doctors, some say it may be someone who’s protecting the supernatural from being revealed to the world. After some investigating, Parrish, who joined last season as a deputy, is behind the bodysnatching. Lydia tells him but he has no memories of taking them or where he put them. Parrish and Lydia finally figure where he’s taking bodies, they keep looking for a reason why.

Guess what, Stiles was right. Theo is a very bad guy. He’s The Dread Doctors first experiment, he’s working with them to takeover Scott’s pack. He turns the pack against each other while playing the nice innocent guy. He puts Liam against Scott, which damn near killed Scott for good. He put Scott against Stiles, not fighting wise but trust wise. He has Malia right where he wants her, she’s keeping major secrets from the pack. He kidnapped Stiles dad, to insure Stiles not helping Scott as well as trying to get him in Theo’s own pack. As Lydia figures out what Parrish is, a hellhound, Theo gets a hold of her and her mind. Her memories lead him to where Parrish has taken the bodies. He revives all of the failed experiments and they walk off forming their new pack with Theo as the Alpha, leaving Lydia in a seemingly catatonic state.
The season ends with Scott exactly where Theo wanted him. Well, he wanted him dead but that didn’t happen, but what’s worse than being dead? Being completely alone, feeling like you’re the responsible party, feeling as though you failed everyone.
The trailer for the upcoming second half of the season looks pretty amazing. Unfortunately it interferes with another show, so I will mostly likely watch it with the west coast. I’m pretty excited to see what’s in store, how Scott will bring everyone together again, what’s going on with Lydia…..
By the way….where the hell is Peter?????
