#The100 – I Am Clarke Griffin

images (5)What would you do if you were 17 years old and responsible for the survival of hundreds of people?

I am Clarke Griffin and that responsibility is mine. I didn’t want it or ask for it, it was just given to me. I was born in space and lived all my life on a space station known as The Arc.  Our planet, Earth, became uninhabitable after a nuclear Holocaust. The people on the 12 space stations that were in orbit at the time survived. That was 97 years ago and I am a descendant of one of those space stations.

I won’t bore you with the details, but now we are back on Earth but at a terrible price. Many lives have been lost. And I admit that I am to blame for some of them.

I am so tired of this terrible burden. I’ve seen more destruction then anyone my age should. I just want to be a normal girl. I want to dress up and go to parties.

But I am a warrior, whether I want to be or not. My life is about the fight.  It’s kill or be killed, fight or die.

I yearn for the day when there will be peace on Earth, and we can live our lives without the fear of people trying to kill us.  Will I ever get married and have children? In the world I live in, I don’t want to, I wouldn’t want any child of mine to have this life.  It’s cold and brutal. And leaves you bitter.

I am Clarke Griffin, and this is my life.

Do you watch The 100? Would you want Clarke’s life? Sound off in comments or tweet @thenerdygirlexp or @stacyamiller85 .
