Speeding, bribing a cop, and a wonderful soundtrack were a perfect introduction to this remarkably sexy show. Yes, I said sexy. Seriously, not only is the entire cast remarkably attractive, but the setting itself is just so gorgeous, I couldn’t look away from it.
Much like in the comics Lucifer has decided to leave Hell for cooler climates in Los Angeles. But while new fallen angels took over Hell in Gaiman’s original Lucifer plot, when Amenadiel, an angel who is severely pissed off at Lucifer for shirking his responsibilities, arrives we learn that no one is watching the tortured souls he left behind. We get to see some intense wing action from Amenadiel when Lucifer gets a little mouthy about the Big Man Upstairs. Now I’d totally watch a show about Heaven and Hell relations, but our plot gets a great deal more murderous when a star named Delilah is shot dead while she’s with Lucifer. When the cops start investigating our devil wants revenge against the person who paid for the hit on the girl he helped get her wildest dreams.
Lucifer sets off on his own investigation, which he is remarkably good at. Not only is he immortal, but he can get anyone to tell him the truth. He can also briefly raise the dead, as long as their soul hasn’t moved on yet. Our devil of a man isn’t alone though, the former actress turned detective Chloe Decker is hot on his heels. Though her brief attempt at arresting him doesn’t last long, especially since he wants to help her solve the case, she begrudgingly lets him help out. It turns out he can’t use his fun power on her, which means we don’t get to know her deepest desires, like with everyone else Lucifer comes in contact with.

While the investigation is the main part of the case, we get to see Lucifer interact with Chloe’s daughter Trixie. Her full name is Beatrice, just like the woman Dante was looking for when he made is trek through the Inferno. I see what you did there writing team and I highly approve. While he might hate kids, it turns out that Trixie has taken a liking to the oddly lovable Lucifer. Detective Dancer tried to be an actress like her mother, but became a cop like her father. It turns out that no one wants to work with her after a certain case involving a cop killing. We do learn who killed Delilah, but when Chloe shoots the man behind it all Lucifer in a fit of rage accidentally shoots her. He though makes sure that she stays alive and gets to torment the murderer too. Lucifer also decides at the end of the episode to go into therapy to work through some issues he’s having adjusting to living in the human world.

I absolutely love Lucifer, he’s so smooth and just remarkably sexy. Besides the accent, which come on is just lovely, he has great dialogue and is just perfect. I would hang out with him any day of the week. Chloe Decker’s introduction was nice and I’m looking forward to seeing the two of them together. I also totally want Lucifer to wind up at a kid related event because of Trixie. I’m definitely going to be tuning in every week for this devilishly good show.
