The #Wentworth Prisoners Didn’t Love Lucy via @stacyamiller85 @SalUPTON @Wentworth

There’s always that one prisoner who you are encouraged to stay away from. Wentworth’s Lucy Gambaro was that prisoner at Wentworth Correctional.

Lucy Gambaro was a dangerous character.  She didn’t let being sent to prison stop her from pursuing her pass time of sexual assaults.  She played a large part in the prison revolt in which the prisoners held Deputy Governor Vera Bennett hostage and jabbed her with a Hep-C infected needle.

Lucy later tried to attack Liz Birdsworth’s daughter Sophie but was stopped by Franky Doyle.  She also cornered Doreen Anderson endangering the life of Doreen’s unborn child by threatening to infect the baby with Hep-C.  This was a bad move on her part which earned Lucy a beat-down by Bea Smith’s enforcer, Maxine Conway.

She ended up in a wheelchair from the injuries she sustained.  Lucy’s taunting of Vera Bennett almost made the mild-manner correctional officer throw the prisoner down a flight of stairs. But due to a fluke accident, Lucy takes a tumble down the stairs anyway.  However when Gambaro is questioned, she blames Governor Joan Ferguson for the deed.

I applaud actress Sally-Anne Upton for bringing this chilling character to life.  Viewers may not have said “I Love Lucy,” but that was okay because it proved that Sally-Anne more than lived up to the task of portraying this character.
