Big Mo may have an insatiable appetite, but his creator, author and illustrator Megan Padalecki, has no need to feel hungry when it comes to showing her creative talent. Her debut children’s book, Big Mo, was recently named as a National Indie Excellence Award winner for Best Picture Book.
A San Antonio native, Padalecki was trained as an architect and spent several years working in the field. In interviews, the gifted and charismatic Padalecki credits her mother (a teacher) for fostering her love for books and for being influenced by the work of famed children’s author Dr. Seuss.
Big Mo is an entertaining and informative book that will delight children of all ages. With its positive message of conservation of natural resources, parents and teachers will find this book to be an invaluable teaching tool.
Congrats to Megan Padalecki!
