I have loved horses for as long as I can remember. But growing up in Philadelphia, the only horses that I saw were the occasional ones used by the police. So reading about horses and watching movies with them became a pleasant outlet. When I entered college in 1983, I was able to go to the Devon Horse Show held in Devon, Pennsylvania. Years later, I contributed to the United States Equestrian Team and was thrilled when Michael R. Matz, Peter Leone, Leslie Burr-Howard and Anne Kursinski won the silver medal at the 1996 Olympics for team show jumping.
Fast forward to 2005. The show Wildfire premiered on ABC Family (now Freeform). Wildfire told the story of Kris Furillo (Genevieve Padalecki), a teen who is released from a correctional facility to work at Raintree, a horse farm owned by the Ritter family. Kris becomes embroiled in the lives and challenges facing the Ritters. A horse named Wildfire isn’t the only one who captured Kris’ heart. Romance was a significant aspect of various plots throughout the series run.
Padalecki played Kris with fierce determination. I loved her character. But another character that I adored was Dani Davis played to perfection by the wonderful Nicole Tubiola. Tubiola amazed me by her ability to portray a character who could have been the stereotypical rich girl. With her talent, Tubiola revealed Dani’s vulnerability. Love and loyalty were a driving force for Dani Davis.
Since Wildfire ended, Nicole Tubiola has kept herself busy with various projects. Aside from acting, Tubiola is the founder of Simple Baby Foods. Simple Baby Foods offers delicious, fresh and health conscious foods for babies. The appeal of Simple Baby Foods is that parents are given the choice of organic foods that are pureed and bundled as well as offered in do it yourself pouches for convenience. Parents can rest easy knowing that they are providing an valuable nutritional alternative to make sure that their child begins life on a healthier path.
It is great to know that Nicole Tubiola through Simple Baby Foods is helping parents give their children the best food options. Congratulations to Nicole on this endeavor.
And for the Wildfire fans: Here’s hoping that someday (soon) the television gods will bless us with a Wildfire cast reunion!
