If the best parts of Supernatural is when they cry, it’s even better when they hug.

In honor of National Hugging Day, here’s some of the Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) hugs that set viewers hearts aflutter and eyes moist with tears.

Season 2 – “All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 1 and Part 2”

Sammy’s dead! It was one of the most shocking moments of Supernatural. Jake stabs Sam and he dies…in Dean’s arms. This was back before viewers knew that Supernatural dead didn’t mean permanently dead. Dean makes a demon deal and before you can say ‘Sammy’, little brother is alive again.

Season 3- “Mystery Spot”

When you watch your brother died over a hundred times, it can take a lot out of you. Sam was so happy that the Trickster’s death loop had ended that he gave Dean a tearful hug.

Season 4- “Lazarus Rising”

The price for Dean’s demon dealing was that he was only given a year to live before his soul would be sent to Hell.   Dean spent four months ‘down under’ before he was saved by the angel Castiel. When Sam saw that his brother was alive, their hug was epic.

Season 6 – “Like A Virgin”

“First you were a soul less dick bag and now you’re not”– Dean, Mannequin 3: The Reckoning

Dean would do anything to get his little brother back as soul less Sam left a lot to be desired.  Sam, on the other hand, hadn’t realized he had lived without his soul.  He thought he was in The Cage and was just so happy to see his big brother again.

Season 8 -10 Various Season Hugs

Sam and Dean had many reasons to hug during these seasons.
