Today we celebrate the birthday of a lovely young woman who inspires all with her kind spirit.

It is the birthday of Gina Rodriguez.  In a few short years, Gina has become a household name due to her portrayal of the title character, Jane Villanueva in The CW’s Jane The Virgin.  Despite a medical mishap that left the unmarried virgin pregnant, Jane continued to pursue her dream of becoming a writer while balancing motherhood. Jane has flaws but through her strong faith and love and support of her family, she overcomes any obstacle.

Like Jane, Gina looks for the good that life has to offer.  She is constantly encouraging people on social media to reach inside themselves in order to be the best they can be. Gina knows that words can hurt and advocates using them in a way to build someone up, not tear them down. She has a vivacious yest for life that shows both on-screen and off.

On this July 30, your birthday, thank Gina for sharing your talents and personality with the world.  Continued happiness and success with your career and in your life.

Here is a poem written for you by Tracy Diane Miller:

Seeing with the eyes of a heart, a birthday poem for @HereisGina by Tracy Diane Miller

If I were to tell you
Would it come as a surprise
That you can actually see
Through your heart
For it has eyes
To glimpse a vision of a soul
Compassion at its best
Is this the goal of humanity
Sought without rest
Seeing with the eyes of a heart
Where the vision is most clear
Is a road we must strive to take
As hope is always near
Seeing with the eyes of a heart
Is the prayer I send your way
To fill your soul with joy and love
As you celebrate your birthday
