It goes without saying how excited I was to read a tweet from Andrea Navedo (Xiomara) in which she announced that she was on her way back to Los Angeles to begin filming for the new season of Jane the Virgin.

Although viewers still have two more months to wait until we get to see what happens next for the Villanuevas and the other characters that we love, it was great to learn that filming was starting. Last season left cliffhangers galore.  But the biggest is perhaps the shooting of Michael (Brett Dier). Would he survive? Or would poor Jane (Gina Rodriguez) lose her new husband? Those in Team Rafael that I’ve heard from don’t want Michael to die even if that means a possible reunite for she and Rafael (Justin Baldoni).

Then there is Xo, who after telling Riogelio (Jaime Camil) that she didn’t want any more children, learned she was pregnant by his nemesis, Esteban.  How will Xo face having a baby by someone she doesn’t love after telling the man she does love she didn’t want more children?

And how will Petra (Yael Grobglas) who has been rendered unable to speak, tell the world her evil twin Anezka (also Grobglas) has taken over her life?

These story lines are just the foundation for what looks like is going to be a wild ride of a season. October 17 can’t come soon enough!
