Maureen McCormick is dancing her way into the hearts of America on Dancing With The Stars.

I grew up when The Brady Bunch was airing as new episodes and looked forward to seeing the weekly adventures of America’s favorite television family.  Oldest Brady girl, Marcia was who we all wanted to be.  She was smart, pretty and popular.  We could certain understand Jan’s lamenting of “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.”

Watching the later seasons of The Brady Bunch as well as The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, viewers saw that the Brady kids could sing and dance as well as act. Now, Marcia Brady is taking her dancing to the next level as Maureen McCormick has become a celebrity contestant on Dancing With The Stars.

For Week 1, Maureen performed a waltz with partner Artem Chigvintsev.  I can’t imagine how it must feel dancing live in front of a packed room as well as having your routine judged.  But despite how nervous she appeared, Maureen pulled it off like a real trooper and I applaud her. I also commend Artem for his dancing instruction and support of ballroom dance novice Maureen. She and Artem scored 22 out of 40 from the judges. I feel that the score should have been higher.
