Croak #2 jumps right back in where the first issue ended. Nick and Colin’s plan to prank Aubrey has gone horribly wrong, but that’s not the only thing not quite right in these dark and dangerous woods.

While Nick and Tim fight over the idiocy of the prank the injured Colin disappears. Aubrey is the first to notice and the three of them set out to find him. Through some unplanned camera work, Tim catches sight of something strange running alongside them. The deeper they get into the woods the more Tim insists that they can’t leave Colin alone, even though Aubrey and Nick are desperate to leave. Before they find him, horrifying figures emerge from the shadows emitting the terrifying title sound, Croak! Who will survive the first attack and just what are these fearsome creatures? The second issue of Croak was fabulously frightening. We got to see so many of the creatures and their appearance was dangerous and deadly. I love the shadowy darkness of the art within this comic and as you read through you will jump when you get to a certain scene, hint it’s a full page and it is super creepy. I am loving this comic and with everything that’s happened I can’t wait for the third issue. I would read this comic at any time, but October is definitely the perfect time of year for this series.
