Movie Review: The Star via @erinwise82

Adorable! I loved it!

This is the cutest story of the birth of Jesus, from the view point of the animals, that I’ve ever seen. And guess what? The DVD goes on sale TODAY!Meet Bo, a miniature donkey, who wants to be a part of the royal caravan. After escaping from the mill he works for, he befriends Mary, the pregnant lady. Little does he know, Mary is pregnant with the new king. When the current king sets out to find Mary and the new king, Bo decides he must save her from danger.

Come long with this daring donkey on his incredible journey to get Mary to the place she needs to be before the bad guys find her.

Along the way, Bo meets Beth, a sheep, who is following the big new star in the sky. Beth becomes the friend Bo never knew he needed.

Upon trying to warn Mary, and her not understanding donkey speak, Bo does everything he can to make sure nothing happens to Mary, as she and Joseph make their way to Bethlehem. Joseph, however, doesn’t see Bo’s value, and wants him to leave. Eventually, Bo proves just how important he truly is.

This take of the first Christmas, is wonderful. It’s funny, it’s charming, it’s uplifting, suspenseful. At times, I was catching myself sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, wondering what was going to become of our Bo and his friends. I found “The Star” to be quite entertaining. A rare gem that can be shared with the young and old.

It has the story you know, with new and old characters that you will just absolutely adore. It’s a story of hope, of friendship, of love…of forgiveness.

It has the songs you know and love, along with some new ones, sprinkled throughout the movie in the most perfect places. This was a very well-done film with an all-star cast including Steven Yeun, Aidy Bryant, Keegan-Michael Key, Tracy Morgan, Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Kelly Clarkson, Anthony Anderson, Gabriel Iglesias, Patricia Heaton, Kristin Chenoweth, and Christopher plummer.

Brought to from Sony Pictures Animation, this is a DVD you should have in your collection. Pick your copy up today!
