Tish Tindall is a Scottish composer that has made a name for herself in musical theater. Tindall was born in Glasgow and grew up in Aberdeenshire. The Scottish performer has a array of talent in variety of musical instruments and is accomplished on piano, cello, guitar and percussion as well as vocals. She is comfortable on stage and has a commanding presence. Along with Diane Aspinall, Tish co-founded the Scottish Performing Arts College and Theatre School Lossie Entertainment Academy, which helps to teach the next generation of musicians.

The Scottish Gaelic word sgoinneil means brilliant. Such a word is a perfect description for the melodious styling of accomplished composer Tish Tindall.  Tindall provides the perfect marriage of emotion and rhythm in her latest offering For Auld Lang Syne. As Tindall notes in For Auld Lang Syne, “it’s a song, we sing together, a song we sing apart.” Tindall captures the magic of that song that celebrates the past, honors the present, and is marvelously optimistic about the future. Further, Tindall reminds us through her music that a tear shed in remembering of “the people we hold dear” is a lasting tribute to the loving power they give to our lives. Tindall’s cover and interpretation of For Auld Lang Syne touches an intense emotional chord: this music is like experiencing both joy and sadness. We can smile at the thought and beauty of nature that Tindall evokes. We can mourn, perhaps, the happiness of a past that now lives in our hearts and minds. Tindall understands this quite well. Her music understands this quite well.

The feelings stirred within me after hearing this cover of For Auld Lang Syne evoked my creativity and inspired me to draw this portrait of Tish. That’s what good music does…it touches the depths of your heart and soul and stays with you long after you hear the last note. A cover like For Auld Lang Syne took a classic old favorite and elevated it into something even more magical. It brought back memories of a bygone past and renewed hope for a bright future.
