Book Review- The Golden Age of Charli: GPS by @jenabooks via @tdmiller820917

The Golden Age of Charli: RSVP and The Golden Age of Charli: BMI focused on themes of family and friendship amidst a climate of change. Author Jena C. Henry’s book series could be viewed as a renaissance of the human spirit where one’s golden years don’t demand confinement to a rocking chair to passively watch the years go by but rather signals a call to action for positivity, perseverance and “pressing on” in the face of life’s difficulties. We learned from our protagonist Charli how to reinvent ourselves through retirement and that conquering weight gain was possible through perseverance.

@JoleaB Interview With Author Jolea M. Harrison via @tdmiller820917

It is not easy for a writer to build a new world with only her imagination as the blueprint, but author Jolea M. Harrison has definitely succeeded. As the skilled author behind the sweeping fantasy and sci fi book series, The Guardians of the Word, Harrison excels in creating characters who go through an emotional journey as they wage a battle against the forces of good versus evil. Clearly, Harrison is undaunted in the depth of such a creative undertaking: The Guardians of the Word book series includes Chosen, Myth, Telepath, Legend, Union, Seer, Adept and King.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Jolea M. Harrison about her writing. Read what she had to say below.

Interview with The Evolution of A Poet author @KJJenStewart via @tdmiller820917

Poetry stirs the emotions of readers. But I’ve often wondered whether readers understood the road that a poet must travel as she weaves her emotions into verse. We are shaped by our life experiences. Our imaginations, I believe, offer us solace during the painful moments in our lives. Life is about growth. I would argue that the most moving poetic words honor the beauty yet struggles as we evolve.

Jennifer Stewart walks readers through her life and reveals her strengths and vulnerabilities in her marvelous poetic collection, The Evolution of A Poet.  I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Jennifer Stewart. Read what she had to say below.

Book Review: Chosen (Guardians of the Word, Book 1) by Jolea M. Harrison via @tdmiller820917

Jolea M. Harrison has taken the fantasy genre world by storm in her meticulously crafted, skillfully written and thoughtful epic Chosen (Guardians of the Word, Book 1). Chosen is a sweeping fictional treasure poised to delight fantasy lovers and seduce readers who may not be as well versed to the genre. I belong to the latter group. I’m not someone who seeks out fantasy works. But I consider myself a questioning reader who wants to become mentally and emotionally involved with characters.

Book Review: The Evolution of a Poet by @KJJenStewart via @tdmiller820917

The French philosopher, Voltaire, noted that “Poetry is the music of the soul, and above all, of great and feeling souls.”

Some people might argue that a poet has the responsibility of stirring emotions within the reader . However, I believe that poet’s first obligation is to him or herself. Introspection is often painful. Fear forces us to keep our feelings guarded. We may not even want to acknowledge our own fears, doubts and mistakes. To listen to what we are feeling becomes a faint echo. To bravely offer a poetic tribute to emotions that is pure and unspoiled is a gift to the author and the reader.

Voltaire was right: “Poetry is the music…of great and feeling souls.”

The Evolution of a Poet by Jennifer Stewart is a beautifully poignant, delightfully lyrical exploration into one woman’s often painful journey through life. Stewart’s poetic genius is rooted in her ability to allow her words to guide us through her journey. She courageously lets us prowl around her brain and gaze into her heart. The end result is our appreciation for a collection of verse that is quiet and reflective, sometimes dark yet willing to embrace light.

Book Release: Complete #Supernatural Seasons 1-11 Episode Poetry via @stacyamiller85 @cw_spn

In The CW’s Supernatural, we’ve followed hunters Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) as they’ve faced many forms of supernatural evil, gone up against angels (while also befriending one), battled demons physically and emotionally, journeyed to Heaven, Hell, Purgatory and the past. But through it all, these wayward sons have carried on, fight the good fight and shown that they’d die for each other (and have). Sam and Dean will never give up saving people and hunting things.  After all, it’s the family business.
