Ship It Book Review ( @brittashipsit ) from @kleffnotes

Ship It is a book I have been hearing about for over a year. I know it hasn’t even been out that long, but seriously I know I had heard about it way before it ever released. Britta Lundin, who happens to be connected to one of my current television obsessions on The CW, announced that she would have a book coming out focusing on fandom and fanfiction titled Ship It. I had the chance to briefly chat with her at ClexaCon, but wasn’t luck enough to win a book and when I got back to small town Ohio I could not find a copy of it anywhere. I searched high and low and finally, after a bit of a wait, managed to snag one of the digital copies of it through my public library. Ship It is so much more than I ever imagined and the characters are so much more complex than I ever could have guessed just from the book description. I was completely glued to my screen the entire time I was reading. Continue reading “Ship It Book Review ( @brittashipsit ) from @kleffnotes”

The Summer of Jordi Perez Book Review ( @theames )from @kleffnotes

The weather has gotten a bit chilly where I am and that means it is the perfect time to curl up with a cozy book, especially one set in the far warmer month of Summer in California. I have been trying to get my hands on The Summer of Jordi Perez for months. After seeing a table devoted to it and Ship It, which I also plan to review, at ClexaCon this year I was looking for it everywhere. Finally I managed to track it down through a local library app, Libby. When in doubt library it out I guess! Continue reading “The Summer of Jordi Perez Book Review ( @theames )from @kleffnotes”

LGBTQ+ Holiday Shopping Guide from @kleffnotes

It’s December 1st which means the holiday shopping season is definitely upon us. Now regardless of what you celebrate, if you even celebrate at all, this time of year always feels like it involves gift giving in some capacity. This year I wanted to highlight some LGBTQ+ connected sites that you can find things that are perfect for anyone in your life. These are listed in no particular order, though somehow they are unintentionally in alphabetical order, and I recommend checking out each of the sites, even if you aren’t in a shopping mood right this minute. Scourge of the Seas of Time (and Space) Book Review from @kleffnotes

Queen of Swords Press is releasing a brand new anthology focused on swashbuckling pirates who not only sail the high seas, but also the starry skies, Scourge of the Seas of Time (and Space). Now not only are these pirates from tremendously diverse worlds, they also happen to be a bit different than your average high seas adventurer. These characters are all part of the LGBTQ+ umbrella. While not all of the characters specifically discuss their identities each story focuses on minority characters. While the anthology doesn’t come out until December of this year I had the opportunity to sail with these pirates a bit early and wanted to share my thoughts with all of you. Interview with Connie Collingsworth of Butch and Sissy ( @butchandsissy )from @kleffnotes

I had the opportunity to chat with Connie, the founder and owner of Butch and Sissy. I had seen her products online and met her in person at ClexaCon 2018. Beyond buying a bunch of products from her, I also got to talking with her and when her podcast, Is There Gay Stuff In It?, started I was psyched. You can find her LGBTQ+ themed products on the official Butch & Sissy website and for this interview we chatted the business and the podcast. Thanks again to Connie for taking the time to answer all of my questions. Continue reading “Interview with Connie Collingsworth of Butch and Sissy ( @butchandsissy )from @kleffnotes”

Fangirl Freakouts: #NationalComingOutDay 1 Year Later from @kleffnotes

It has been one year since I wrote my coming out article for The Nerdy Girl Express and roughly one year since I came out to my parents, which was the major coming out element I had yet to do in my life. After one year I wanted to do some follow-up and share how my life has changed in the roughly 365 days since I completely came out. While last time I did a full article, the 11th fell on a Thursday and I thought it’d be fun to do a video instead.
