The second episode of Lucifer gave us some Lucifer on street preacher action, which sounds as sexy as the Eiffel Tower move we learned about later on, but definitely didn’t turn out with a happy ending for preacher man. Turns out Lucifer hates liars, especially the kind who bring his name into their lies. The dialogue between them is wonderful, now onto the rest of the wonderful.
The slightly injured detective Chloe is trying to find out more about Lucifer, which involves a trip to Lux. Maze has some issues with Chloe, mostly because she thinks that she’s making Lucifer soft. She’s struck out on finding details about our beloved Lucifer Morningstar, mostly because he’s totally not a human being, but she doesn’t believe the whole devil thing. A murder happens involving a celebrity’s child and Chloe heads straight to the scene. The kid was run off the road by a paparazzi, and we learn that Chloe has a very intense past with a certain paparazzi that Lucifer nicknames Dung Beetle. Our paparazzi insists that he wants to confess to the crime, but Lucifer’s powers woo him into revealing he didn’t actually do it.

Lucifer becomes obsessed with figuring out how Chloe is connected to this paparazzi and why she hates him so much. He thinks it might have something to do with kissing a girl, and liking it. Even though Chloe may not like Dung Beetle, but she wants to find the actual murderer. Lucifer wants to join the search because he wants to punish the wrongdoers, especially since he doesn’t do it anymore in Hell. The two track down the paparazzi who actually did it, and then things get pretty crazy. Lucifer and Maze come up with a bit of vigilante justice, there are guns and slow motion kicks to the nuts. Chloe also gets one step closer to understanding Lucifer when she visits the man who shot her in the pilot.

Besides all of that Trixie introduces Lucifer to her favorite doll, he attempts to play fetch with her, and we learn that she has totally seen Hot Tub High School. She has the internet, Chloe really shouldn’t have been surprised. We also got more Amenadiel, who is still really upset at Luci for running out on his Hell duties. There’s also more Dr. Linda and Lucifer time, she even has a sofa bed with fancy purple sheets for their hookups. The music and the dialogue in this episode were just as amazing as in the pilot and I am super excited for next week.
