Crazy Ex Girlfriend delivered an important message to young women in Monday’s episode “I’m Back at Camp With Josh!”

Viewers watched Rebecca Bunch (played with comedic brilliance by Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award Winner Rachel Bloom) move cross country to pursue her camp crush, Josh Chan. They have seen her practically grovel to get his attention. But Monday’s episode offered a turning point for both Rebecca and Josh.
Rebecca tries to recreate her camp experience with Josh by joining him on the annual camping trip that he goes on with local kids. She even decides to read the letter she wrote him (but never sent) hoping it will make him realize he cares for her as much as she does him. But unfortunately, this backfires when Josh laughs at her.
When Rebecca breaks down in from of the young women she’s there to empower, she and viewers receive a memorable moment regarding not letting a man define you. The girls encourage Rebecca to “Put Yourself First”
Take a look:
This is an inspiring message as women tend to lose themselves, as well as change who they are for a man’s attention. I hope Rebecca will come to realize she matters, with or without Josh.
However, Josh ends up reading Rebecca’s entire letter later and tells her that no one has ever believed in him the way she has. He kisses her…on the cheek. But this is still enough for Rebecca to let her know Josh cares about her.
It will be interesting to see where this turn of events lead.
