Can #Wentworth ‘s Liz and Sophie Have A Mother/Daughter Relationship? via @stacyamiller85

When Wentworth’s Liz Birdsworth was paroled, one of the first things she did was go to her old home to reconnect with her children and to give them the letters she had written for them.

Liz never got to give the letters but did get to reconnect with daughter, Sophie.  Unfortunately, it took place inside Wentworth Prison where Sophie was now a prisoner herself.

Sophie was resentful that Liz’s alcoholism took her mother away from her when Liz was sentenced to Wenworth Prison. Now, Sophie has the disease as well, which is how she ended up behind bars.

When Sophie first arrived at Wentworth Prison, she wasn’t eager to have Liz back in her life. Liz falling off the wagon (with the aid of Jess Warner) didn’t help matters. Liz wanted a relationship with her daughter but even when that didn’t seem possible, what she wanted most was for Sophie to know that her mum loved her and always would.

At Sophie’s meeting with the widow of the man she had killed, Liz was there with her daughter offering motherly support and comfort. And it seemed as though they were on their way to rebuilding their relationship.

The question is, can Liz and Sophie ever have a mother/daughter relationship?  And what kind of relationship will it be behind bars?
