Season 11 of Supernatural focused on trying to stop The Darkness from destroying the world.
This article contains spoilers so if you live in a region that has not yet aired Supernatural Season 11, please do not continue reading.
The thoughts expressed in this article is entirely that of the writer. The summer scenario stated has not aired on The CW’s Supernatural.
It was revealed by Metatron that The Darkness aka Amara was the sister of God. She harbored a deep resentment of her brother for choosing humanity over her and locking her away. Amara wanted vengeance “Hell hath no fury like the sister of God scorned!”
Once she was released due to the spell Rowena used for Sam to rid Dean of the Mark of Cain, The Darkness set about creating havoc by unleashing a Croatoan-like virus turning a small town into zombie land. Sam became infected but was cured.
After a season of Sam and Dean’s efforts of trying to find a way to stop Amara, the final battle came down to a therapy session between God (discovered to be Chuck) and Amara with Dean acting as Dr. Phil. He reminded that they were each other’s only family and should put their differences aside. So apparently ‘The Mouth of Dean’ was more effective than weapons like The Hand of God, proving that even though words can hurt, they can help too.
All was forgiven. God (who preferred to be called Chuck) and Amara took off to make up for lost time.
It’s been three and a half months. I’d like to think that Chuck and Amara spent their summer getting to know each other again. They’ve been exploring the beauty of the world, traveling the Earth, watching the sunset and perhaps going to places like The Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore and Disneyland. The most magical place on Earth found the powerful brother and sister enjoying the rides while wearing Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears (love the imagery). I wonder whether Chuck and Amara watched the fireworks on the 4th of July while eating hamburgers and hot dogs. Regardless, as long as they continue to work through their problems without violence or destruction the world is a better (and safer) place.
