Book Preview: Seed of the Sunflower by @LisaNEdwards via @tdmiller820917

I recently discovered that in numerology, there is significance to the number 11:11. I can’t say that I follow numerology as carefully as others, but I can admit to my fascination with the number 11:11.

11/11/86 was a great day for me when I was in college because I remember that day because I was invited to attend a Phi Beta Kappa symposium in New York City. I am a liberal arts graduate. I proudly wear my Phi Beta Kappa honor society key. Being amongst a room of fellow academicians who wanted to discuss literature was heaven for me!

Flash forward to today: I sometimes wait for my digital clock to change to 11:11 and I make a wish. Not really sure why I do that. I just do.

Well, my book reviewer heart’s desire has come true because one of my favorite authors, Lisa N. Edwards, is releasing her new book, Seed of the Sunflower on November 11th. Seed of the Sunflower is the third book in the incredible trilogy that began with Can’t Fight Fate and Chasing Butterflies. In the previous books, Edwards took us on the self discovery journey of Hollywood entertainment lawyer Nikki Kirkpatrick, an intelligent, compassionate and sensitive young woman on a desperate quest for the green eyed soul mate foretold by psychics. Maybe Fate is cruel in keeping her cards so close to the vest for Nikki’s search for a love promised by destiny is not without its roadblocks.

I am a big fan of Lisa N. Edwards writing style because it is so thoughtful and so unapologetically authentic. Nikki may have achieved the trappings of professional success, but she is still lost in some ways. She is still uncertain. She still fails at some things in life. She can be awkward and clumsy. But that’s okay because what is life anyway but this awkward and clumsy journey where we fall and then get back up again.

You will want to pick up your copy of Seed of the Sunflower on 11/11 . It will be your lucky day!
