BehindTheNerdyGirl: Deuces Wild via @erinwise82 #Deuces #Vipers @wwwbigbaldhead @JamesFrancoTV @frankiemuniz @BaltGetty @fairuza @dreadematteo, @realjknoxville

I really don’t think I could say a bad thing about this film. I truly enjoy it. I’m surprised it didn’t do better than it did, the plot was well done, the acting was great, the cast was fabulous. This is definitely my type of movie. Sure, you could say the writer may have taken every Greaser cliche and dropped it in…buuuut…..it made for one hell of a great movie, despite the very minor flaws.

Set in late 1950’s Brooklyn, Deuces Wild stars  Stephen Dorff, the late Brad Renfro, Norman Reedus (yep), James Franco, Matt Dillion, Frankie Muniz, Balthazar Getty, Fairuza Balk, Vincent Pastore, Drea de Matteo, Johnny Knoxville, among others. See, like I said, fabulous cast.

Leon and Bobby are brothers (Dorff, Renfro). They’re also members of the street gang, the Deuces. Since their brother Allie Boy overdosed on drugs, given to him by Marco (Reedus), they keep drugs off their block. This keeps them at “war” with another local street gang, the Vipers, that happens to be headed by Marco…sort of, you know everyone has someone above them…always. After Marco sits in prison for 3 years for Allie Boy, he plots revenge against Leon, assuming Leon ratted him out to the cops.

When Bobby falls for a new girl, Annie (Balk), as hell breaks loose. She’s the sister of Jimmy (Getty)….member of the Vipers as well as their drug dealer. A Deuce dating a Viper’s sister ain’t exactly a good idea. Marco seeks permission from the Boss man, Fritzy (Dillion), to kill Leon and is denied. Though he does attack the block and Bobby, then decides to beat and rape Leon’s girlfriend Betsy(de Matteo). Pushing Leon over the edge. After several back and forths between the Deuces and the Vipers, (including what I find to be the funniest scene and line in the whole movie, throwing cinder blocks off the roof onto a car, Leon says to Bobby “you can’t throw bricks off the roof” and Bobby replies “cinder blocks, they’re bigger”), Fritzy orders Leon and Marco to squash things, just hours before a huge rumble is suppose to take place.

Guess who disobeys Fritzy…..yep….they fight at the docks, where a few major people are killed…..and the one left standing is killed for disobeying direct orders.

Seriously, this movie is a really fun ride regardless of the cliches. I could watch it over and over. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you give it a shot. What have you got to lose, Norman Reedus is in it.
