Happy Birthday @JustinHartley via @stacyamiller85 #ThisIsUs @NBCThisIsUs #HappyBirthdayJustinHartley

January 29 is Justin Hartley’s (Kevin, This Is Us) birthday.

I have been a fan of Justin Hartley since I first seen him as playboy Fox Crane on the NBC soap Passions back in 2002. It was just something special about this actor that made me want to follow his subsequent projects. I was pleased when he was cast as Oliver Queen in Smallville and hoped he’d continue on as the Queen character when The CW announced the upcoming Arrow.  After Smallville ended its run, Hartley appeared in the short-lived series on The CW Emily Owens, M.D. as Will Collins. He played Patrick Osbourne, the illegitimate son of Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) in Revenge.  And had other roles on such series as Hart of Dixie,  Melissa & Joey and Mistresses.  Justin returned to soaps as Adam Newman in CBS’ The Young and The Restless.  But it is his current role as Kevin Pearson in the critically acclaimed NBC series This Is Us that has caused people to take notice. In Kevin, Justin Hartley has found the perfect character and plays him with the right amount of sensitivity mixed with insecurity. Viewers care about Kevin.  Everyone I’ve heard from regarding Kevin say that they can’t imagine anyone else playing him but Justin. I tend to agree.

So on January 29 your birthday Justin, I wish you continued success and happiness in your career and family.  As a fan for 15 years, I thank you for playing some great characters on my favorite shows. I look forward to seeing the layers you bring to Kevin on This Is Us.
