Interview with Ella Greenwood ( @ellagreenwood16 )from @kleffnotes

I had the chance to chat with actress Ella Greenwood about her plethora of great roles and work. This young London based actress has appear on screen, on stage, and even in audiobooks. Thank you so much to Ella for taking the time to chat with me and you can find out more about this fun and talented actress below.

Could you tell our readers a little about yourself?

I’m a young actress from London, who loves films and has an unhealthy obsession with Pop Tarts. I have an older sister who’s currently in Texas and my favourite animal is a Capybara. I’m fluent in French and I have a pet gecko called Griff.

You play the lead in the thriller, Before Nightfall, could you describe this film and your character Grace Grimston?
The film is set in the 17th century and follows a young girl who lives in a village terrorised by an unknown creature. Her friend is taken by the beast and so she sets into the woods to try and find him. My character Grace is brave, but she’s also naive and scared.

What can you tell me about your lead role in the horror movie In Front of You?

In Front of You is a paranormal horror about a teenager named Lina who is suffering from psychological trauma and has begun to face an entity because of it. I loved playing Lina and even got to wear a blue wig for part of the shoot which was quite a change from my normal blonde. I was channelling Coraline, which is one of my favourite movies!

You will also be in the upcoming project Moriarty, can you tell me more about it?

Moriarty is a modern retelling of the Sherlock Holmes stories, told from the perspective of his greatest arch nemesis. I’ve been cast as the character of Simpson who helps out Holmes from time to time.

Theatre is also a passion of yours, could you discuss your performance in the UK Monologue Slam and your place in the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain?

Performing in the Monologue Slam was such a great experience, the audience and other performers were so supportive.

British Theatre is and always has been incredible and so getting to work with other young actors and train where many great actors trained is amazing.

I love listening to audiobooks and saw you had done some voice-over work, could you tell me a bit about that?

I’ve recently narrated three audio books which are now available on Amazon/Audible/iTunes. I love to record audio books a lot, but I hate listening to them back! Sometimes I get stuck on certain words and so I just end up blabbering them out which can be frustrating, but funny.

You are multi-talented, could you share some details about your dance and language skills?

I’ve always loved to dance and have done from a young age. Tap is the style I love most!

I was made to learn French in primary school but I’m so glad that I was. I love the French language and it’s great to understand and appreciate French films, TV shows, literature and music. The French show ‘Call My Agent’ on Netflix is what I’m currently binge watching.

What can you tell me about the web series work you’ve done?

I recently shot a web series that’s based on a video game so I got to film using green screen techniques. There are so many different ways for actors to work now, and also for projects to be shared with viewers, which has opened the door to many new opportunities.

You have mentioned you love traveling, what have been some of your favorite places to visit?

Orlando is my second home. It’s where my parents met and used to live and we have family friends out there so I love going back. Dubai and Las Vegas were amazing in terms of what has been built there and how modern they are and I’d say Canada and Haiti were incredible for their natural landscapes.

I also heard you are a Disneyland fan, what are some are the things you love to do when you visit?

Disneyland does the best popcorn so you’ll always see me in the queue at one of the popcorn carts! I love watching the parades and strolling along Main Street. My sister worked in Disneyland Paris for a year and so I’ve been on It’s a Small World about a thousand times now.
